-- The individuals have taken some time to celebrate Caesar's success & welcome Caesar to Rome - a couple of tribunes, Flavius and Marullus, are angry because the people are honoring (they see it as dis-loyalty to Pompey)

- Each goes around telling people to go to work, aiming to diminish Caesar's victory

1) To be effective, a play's opening scene must engage the audience or the reader's attention. As to what extent is Shakespeare effective here? What other functions will be served at this time first scene?

How much does this inform us about the Roman mob?

They hailed and cheered him. The Roman mafia is unreliable. They are trying to find the most exciting thing during those times. That is what exactly they want. We learn that they will alter their devotedness very quickly.

5) Explain how Marullus character the riv Tiber.

He says that the riv trembles.

6) Why does Flavius want drive an automobile the commoners from the streets of Rome? He would not want them to celebrate Caesar's victory. Marullus and Flavius feel that the Roman mafia is much too quick to improve their allegiance. What it really means that these people simply want the person who says they may give them what they want.
