Abstract

Influences arise when tourism provides changes in benefit systems / behaviour, frightening indigenous id. Changes generally occur in community structure, family members relationships, group traditional life-style, ceremonies and morality. Nevertheless tourism could also generate confident impacts as it can serve as a supportive power for serenity, foster satisfaction in ethnic traditions and help avoid downtown relocation by creating local jobs. Socio-cultural impacts happen to be ambiguous: the same objectively referred to impacts are seen as effective by several groups as negative by simply others. This kind of research targeted at finding out the socio-cultural impacts of travel and leisure development for the residents of Kilifi Township. Questionnaires were used to collect data while qualitative and quantitative methods were used to analyse the findings.
